June 2016 Competitive Update
U13 Boys Green Update
Coach Jean Beto and his U13 boys Power Green team started off this year on a good foot when they hosted the March Break tournament where they beat Kleinburg and Nobleton (2 – 0), Whitby (2 – 0) and Thornhill Thunder (3-1). While they continue to work hard and improve, the team entered the Frank Sobil Spring Soccer Classic tournament in May with no expectations. From the strong defensive play of our central D. (Tafari) to the unstoppable, ruthless striker/captain’s goal scoring abilities (Andrew), the team cruised through the cold spring weather to beat Cherry Beach (3- 2), Thornhill Thunder (3- 0), Southern United Bullets (6- 3) in the 1/4 finals, Ajax FC (2- 1) in the semi finals, and finally overcame the tenacity of Trois – Riveres (Rebels de L ‘ est) 4-0 to win the tournament. Congrats to all!
Back to the club, where Coach Jean and his boys got back to the basic fundamentals of soccer preparing for their newly promoted YRSA league composed of 21 strong teams in the division 1. As an unknown outsider, the Pickering Power Green 03 boys have embarked on a journey that has proved to be fun and enjoyable. Currently top of the group, the team has played 12 games; 11 wins, 1 tie, and 0 losses, and a total of 66 goals scored. “Go Pickering Go!”
U13 Boys Gold Win in Peterborough
Congratulations to the U13 Boys Gold team for their win in the Peterborough tourney on the weekend of June 18-19, 2016. It was a tough weekend weather-wise and personal-wise for our boys, and yet they succeeded with the win in the final against CS Monteuil with a 3-1 victory.
