TSN praises Riviere’s skills for Canada at Women’s World Cup
PARIS — In her first senior start for Canada, against Nigeria in April, Jayde Riviere was clattered in a tackle in the first half.
The 18-year-old from Pickering, Ont., had been dealing with an injury for a while and the collision sent shockwaves through her entire lower body. But the pain and frustration turned into a learning moment when a teammate offered some words of wisdom at halftime.
She told Riviere she was facing “a now-or-never decision.”
