Regarding the mens league I really liked it and would like to see it offered again next year... Helped me keep the weight off and I love the game as well.
Great job PSC !
Thanks,

Hi Cheryl,
My 12 year old had never played soccer before and was very hesitant to try a new sport as she felt she would lag behind everyone else. She knew nobody in Pickering soccer other than one of the coaches, Lynn M.
My daughter was placed on the Gold Team with coaches Michelle and Lynn. Not only did she learn to play the sport very quickly under Michelle and Lynn's guidance; in practice they did an amazing job at ensuring the girls got to know each other. These skills helped them trust each other more on the field and their passing skills really improved in the last half of the season. It was wonderful to see my daughter enjoying a new sport and making new friendships.
So, I just wanted to thank you for making that happen for my daughter and allowing her to join such a commendable team.
Sincerely,
Donna D-M

Coaches Alysia and Shane, [I] just wanted to drop a quick note to say we are honoured to have you as coaches for our son. You are dedicated to the team, go the extra mile every time, and instill in the team the confidence and passion for Soccer. With fresh blood like you on board, Pickering Soccer is in good hands for years to come. We want you to know all your hard work is acknowledged and appreciated by us parents and for us you are the role models we would like our son to emulate!
Cheers,
Atul Sarvate
August 1, 2011 My daughter, Jorgen plays for the U12G White team – Treco Real Estate - Gino Sgovio. I am writing to you about her coach Shawn Jones.
I was very happy when I discovered that Shawn was going to coach my daughter again this year. Although his teams don't always win their games, he always manages to keep the game fun for the girls. Despite the fact that my daughter is not a strong soccer player, she loves the game and returns every year because of coaches like Shawn. He is the kind of coach that the recently published study by Western University wrote about when they cautioned coaches and parents alike to keep the game fun for the kids. A prime example of the kind of difference that Shawn makes is the fact that he offered to return from his cottage in time for practice if enough girls were interested in coming out and was the only coach of the four teams that share the practice field who ran a practice tonight. Over half the players showed up, and his own daughter wasn't even one of them (she is visiting family right now and was going to miss the practice anyway).
Shawn is that rare breed of house league coach who is not in it for his own kid, who is not in it for the win, but is in it for the kids and is making a difference in many young lives one week at a time. If there is any way for him to be recognized for his commitment, please make sure that you do so. He certainly deserves the recognition. Thank you.

June 17, 2011 Kudos for how well organized this year's picture day was compared to last year. I was pleased to see that the photographers that were used in prior years had returned which I believe made a big difference. The picture times for both my girls Elly (at 8:30 am) and Neve (12:50) were on schedule which made for a very relaxing and enjoyable day for the family.

Hi Gino
We just wanted to let you know what a great job you did in organizing tonights games! I can't imagine the time and effort that goes into organizing such a large enrollment of players and keeping everyone 'happy'.
Our games tonight went off without a hitch and we have you to thank for that. Keep up the great work!

Hi Franco,
I didn't know what to expect going to this seminar but I really enjoyed it. I didn't want to leave but had to pick Victoria up. Thank you to you and your team for setting up a very informative time for us to learn and grow as well.
It was only 2 years ago Victoria started to play soccer so I sheepishly admit I don't know much about all of it but am learning quickly. Having learned what I did at the seminar gives me a great overview of what the PSC is all about, what they are striving for but mainly I see a very STRONG. 'Mission + Vision' to be the best as a Soccer Club.
I can't thank you enough Franco. Please extend our thanks to the team who manages the soccer club because it was a stellar time.
You will always receive resistance as Leaders from time to time but know you're doing a great thing at the PSC. We're so thrilled Victoria is on yours and Barry's team.
Sincerely,
Judith McCartney

Hi Roz,
It was nice speaking to you this morning. Thanks for inviting me to offer my comments on PSC's goalkeeper training.
As I said to you this morning, I'm very impressed by your training. It's evident from the enthusiasm of the children that they are really enjoying it and that goes a long way towards assisting in their learning. Kudos to you, George and the others involved.
Here are the things that I like about the training:
1) Children are all close in age allowing for drills that work for all of them.
2) George spends time with all of the children. As I mentioned, our son attends other training where there is a wide range of ages. I've noticed that the lead instructor spends most of his time with the oldest kids (late teens) and far less with the younger children.
3) Both individuals who assist with the training are also very good - well qualified and very engaged with the kids.
4) I particularly like the drills George does. They go beyond focusing on just one thing, instead building skills in several areas. I also think these drills are more interesting for the children.
5) George makes the exercises fun. An example was when the kids played dodge ball this morning. Of course, all kids love dodge ball but there were definite skills George was focused on building in doing this exercise.
Thanks again for inviting my input. It's been a pleasure for our son participating in the PSC training.

Dear Roz,
All your hard work in organizing this training is obviously doing Cameron good. He went to a penalty shootout in his CESL Cup semi against Whitby A and did an outstanding job to help his team to the finals. Please thank George and Saul and all the others who have helped Cameron as well.
Thanks,
John

Dear Lisa F,
I just wanted to take a minute to recognize a coach who I feel is simply the best. Coach Bonnie is such a wonderful person and has such a positive attitude and great way with our girls. My daughter took to her immediately and felt very comfortable around her as well as always enjoying coming to practices and games. I feel that Bonnie is very genuine and really cares about our girls. As a mother, I really appreciate this.
All of the coaches deserve medals for the time and effort they bring into this sport. We were just very fortunate to have had one of the best!
Sincerely,
Patricia Van Berkum

Hi Lisa F,
I just got home from soccer practice and again this week we had the pleasure of Gerald's instructional technique. Plain and simply, he is a real 'GEM'. I've been coaching with Pickering now for 7 years and I'm so glad that we were given the opportunity to learn from someone so special. Not only does he bring a wealth of skills and teaching abilities...he is also hilarious, kind and truly knows how to motivate the girls. There was a smile and giggle from every girl this evening...something I haven't seen this entire year. I honestly wish that Michelle and I had the ability to bring the best out in the kids like Gerald always does.
Again...we have been so lucky to have him this year....thank you and Pickering Soccer for generously coordinating his availability.

This is our first organized sports experience. I am truly amazed at how kind you've all been, and am especially impressed with all the efforts you've made today, so quick and efficient, when it must be the busiest time of year for you.
Big, big hugs!!
You are much appreciated!

Hi Tony,
I just wanted to thank you (and the club) for offering the Coaching Sessions over the past 3 Saturday mornings for us coaches. I found the clinics to be very interesting and quite informative. The teacher, Alfonso, was very good at communicating all the soccer techniques and the drills/games that accentuated each. It was nice to learn these coaching skills from someone who recognizes that the sport is foremost to be 'fun' and that teaching the boys and girls can be a great experience (from both perspectives).
Thanks again, Bill U9G
