All Abilities / Special Needs

The All Abilities soccer program offers children and youth with intellectual and/or physical disabilities, an opportunity to learn and play soccer.

Every child deserves a chance to build lasting friendships, make memories and feel like they belong.  The All Abilities team strives for an inclusive environment where no child is noticed for their disability.  It is a place where enormous abilities shine.

Our program is fully inclusive, designed and adapted for children with any disability or level of behaviour.  Whether they use a wheelchair, walker or wear orthotics, or live with an intellectual, communication (ASD) or developmental disability, we provide support (1:1 as needed) and welcome all on the field.

The Pickering Soccer Club’s All Abilities Program is at the forefront of development of not only soccer programs but also physical literacy programming, and recreation/socialization opportunities.

 

Registration

We offer two sessions a year. Our Fall/ Winter session takes place October – March at that the Pickering Soccer Centre. Our Spring/Summer session takes place May- August at Brock Ridge Community Park

Spring/ Summer 2019 Registration is now open. Pre-registration is required.

  • Cost: $95.00 (Subsidies available)
  • Date: May 22 – August 21, 2019
  • Juniors (5 – 12)                 6:00 – 7:00 pm             May 22 update: Registration is now full for the Junior Group!
  • Seniors (13 & Over)           7:00 – 8:00 pm

First Contact

If you and your child are curious about our program – come out and join us for First Involvement. First Involvement is a great opportunity to meet our program coaches & volunteers, and play games in a structured and fun environment. If you find that we are the right fit for your child, you can register for the full summer session afterwards. First Involvement is FREE. RSVP required.

Our Winter First Involvement session is being planned for October 2019.  More details will be posted after our Summer session concludes.

Holland Bloorview Program

Holland Bloorview, in partnership with the Pickering Soccer Club, will be hosting the All Abilities program this fall.  This program is open to anyone, and is available Sundays at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital in Toronto.  Our fall program dates, fees and registration will be available fall 2019.  Please keep checking back for updates.
