The High Performance / Elite Player Pathway at PSC
Pickering Soccer Club (PSC), one of the leading soccer clubs in Durham, and the only club in the region to hold licenses to operate in the Ontario Soccer (OS) two standards based leagues for both men and women, are proud to announce an evolution of their Elite Player Pathway (EPP), the beginning of which was the official re-branding of both their League1 Ontario (L1O) and Ontario Player Development League (OPDL) entries.
In March of 2014 PSC was granted a license in the much anticipated arrival of the OS sanctioned L1O, a standards based Pro-Am league designed to bridge the gap for those elite players with aspiration to continue playing the game at a high level.
PSC, as license holder, is one of 10 clubs in Ontario to hold both OPDL and L1O licenses, and one of just four clubs to have both male and female squads in both leagues. This commitment to the EPP for both genders is what sets Pickering Soccer apart from others in Durham and Ontario.
In our continuing efforts to be inclusive of the region and to provide development opportunities for players and coaches alike, PSC has streamlined our EPP. Having received permission from L1O and OS, we have re-branded the L1O program as “Durham United Football Alliance” (DUFA) and the PSC entry in OPDL is now known as “United FA” (UFA), maintaining continuity and recognizing the cumulative efforts within the EPP alliance.
All Durham United Football Alliance clubs will work with the license holder, Pickering Soccer Club, with a focus on Long Term ELITE Player Development. Annually, alliance clubs will come together to run joint development evaluation camps, supporting United FA OPDL teams through coaching/facility needs and build a strong core L1O men’s and women’s Durham United FA program.
