AA Programs

All Abilities = All Inclusive

The primary objective of the All Abilities Program is to provide the opportunity for children and youth of all abilities, including those with special needs, physical and/or intellectual disabilities to play soccer, have fun, form friendships and participate in a team sport. All Abilities means all inclusive – everybody welcome.  We will have challenges with programming since our members will be wonderfully diverse.

Working closely with experts in sports and disability support services, we have designed a series of modules that follow Canada’s Sport for Life development guide to help our athletes develop physically, socially and personally within a soccer focused, team environment. Our goal is to deliver high quality sport programming and meaningful volunteer experiences. All athletes will have their own personal reasons for joining our team. For some, the goal is fun and participation while for others it’s fitness and friendship and for some, it’s the desire to learn the fundamentals of soccer and advance towards learning to train.

Athlete Focus Program

Our programs offer both structure and flexibility capable of meeting the unique needs and abilities of each athlete. The program is run by trained volunteers and coaches.

Through the generous support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, we have developed an accessible, fun and engaging program for athletes of any ability to simply play. With play comes physical activity and the myriad benefits it brings, from developing agility, balance and coordination (ABCs) to cardiovascular fitness. As a parent/guardian, you are welcome to participate but are not required to.

All players are given individual attention appropriate for their abilities.  The #1 rule is FUN! Athletes receive a full soccer kit, ball, year-end participation award, and all Pickering Soccer Club Member benefits (special events, deals/coupons with local businesses etc).

We are proud to announce that the Pickering Soccer club has been awarded a second prestigious Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant to further develop our coach training programs, grow and enhance our soccer programs, and create partnerships with regional organizations to grow opportunities for children and adults with exceptional needs to participate in quality sports programs – all for the benefit of the physical and mental health of our community.
