U11 Boys Update

The Pickering Boys U11 program took our White and Green Teams to the Rochester Cobra Soccer Tournament July 8th-10th.  It was our first away tournament ever, and every player enjoyed the experience to the fullest.

Our White team fought hard and came away with a 1-2 record.  Our Green team came away with GOLD!  We played 5 games with 4 wins and 1 tie scoring 23 goals for and conceding only 5.  In the finals, the 5th game in two days in the scorching heat, the boys played and expended every ounce of energy they had winning in penalty shots 6-5.  It was a compelling victory and a feeling the boys don’t get to experience at all here in Ontario.

Here is a video of their reaction when they won in penalty shots.  Our apologies for the movie being sideways 🙁

Nevertheless, what stands out most is at the end of the video is our player, Hunter, displaying incredible sportsmanship – the most sportsmanlike moment I have ever witnessed from a young child – leaves the team celebration to go console the young man that missed the lone penalty.  The parents, manager and coaching staff are very proud of all the boys on White and Gold for playing hard and with such class.
